Hacienda Clavero stands as an architectural jewel whose history dates back to the late 19th century. Conceived as a typical Andalusian recreational farmhouse, its architecture is marked by a rich Mudéjar influence, visible in the exquisite Hispano-Moorish ornaments that adorn its structure. True to southern tradition, everything at the Hacienda revolves around its Andalusian Courtyard, an oasis of freshness and serenity that forms the heart of the property.
Throughout its existence, the hacienda has evolved. Between 1910 and 1920, it underwent a first transformation that incorporated Levantine influences, with its most notable detail being the modernist mosaic floors that still provide a vibrant artistic touch today. Half a century later, in 1970, a second renovation consolidated its character, adding the walled enclosure, lattice screens, and courtyard enclosures to enhance its majesty and privacy.
Since then, the Hacienda has belonged to the Brinkmann family, whose ancestors of German origin settled in Málaga, attracted by the growing commercial boom. They have been the custodians of this legacy, carefully preserving its authenticity.
The property dazzles with its unmistakable aesthetic, marked by white facades and the use of albero, crowned by clay tile roofs. Its distinctive features tell a story of art and tradition: elegant arches, tranquil fountains, original Triana tiles, and fine wrought iron details. All of this framed by sea views and surrounded by a garden and orchard that are a delight for the senses.
The gardens, a true Mediterranean haven, bloom with the aromas of Jasmine, Night-blooming Jasmine, Bougainvillea, Orange Blossom, and Rose. The orchard contributes its bounty with Loquat, Lemon, Orange, and Pomegranate trees, and the venerable Olive tree. Walking through the Hacienda is to immerse yourself in a living chapter of Málaga’s history, where the Mudéjar legacy and Andalusian spirit endure in every corner.
